Welcome

Welcome to the website of The Federated Church of East Arlington. When members of the local United Methodist church (founded in 1859) and Congregational church (founded in 1843) voted to join together in 1946, they formed one church. Thus, they became “federated.” Today, the church is home to people from many different denominational backgrounds. We worship together and support each other and the community through missions, outreach, food services, education, health programs and fellowship in many forms. We acknowledge that faith has a personal inner dimension and a communal outward expression. Our church community seeks to embody Christ’s ministry. We seek God together so that the power of the Holy Spirit can live in and among us. We welcome you join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. in person or online. You are also welcome to attend other programs or stop by the church office to say hello.

Worship

“The Federated Church of East Arlington, Vermont acknowledges as its sole head Jesus Christ, Son of God and Savior of men and women. We recognize two sacraments: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We affirm the responsibility of the Church in each generation to make this historic faith its own.”

We gather once a week at 10:00am on Sunday to worship God and hear His Word. We have a faith background in the United Church of Christ and  the United Methodist Church and use parts of each in our order of worship. We welcome  people of faith, or in search of faith, no matter how young or old.

The Federated Church recognizes two (2) sacraments: Baptism and Communion.  Communion is offered on the first (1st) Sunday of every month and is open to all  persons of faith.  Anyone wishing to be baptized or have an infant baptized should contact the pastor at the church office.

We offer Church School for children 3-10 years old from September to May and we are currently using the Deep Blue curriculum.
